A fair price for your current car
How part-exchange works
1. Get an online estimate - Fill in a few details about your current car - registration, mileage, condition. We'll give you an honest indicative valuation, usually within minutes.
2. Bring it down - Drive your car to Romford. One of our team will give it a once-over - engine, bodywork, interior, history - to confirm a final figure.
3. Use the value against your next car - The agreed value is taken straight off the price of your new vehicle. If financing, it can act as your deposit. Usually same day.

Indicative figure based on the current trade and retail market. Final offer confirmed in person.
What affects your valuation
- Mileage - Lower generally means higher value, but realistic mileage for the car's age matters more than chasing the lowest number.
- Service history - Full history (especially main dealer or independent specialist) adds noticeable value.
- Condition - Bodywork, interior, tyres, MOT status. Small scuffs are normal and priced in.
- Outstanding finance - Not a problem. We settle directly with your lender.
- Market demand - Some makes/models hold value better than others. We'll always explain why a figure is what it is.
FAQ
Will I get more selling privately? Sometimes - but rarely by much, and you take on the time, hassle and risk of a private sale. Part-exchange is faster, safer, and value goes straight off your next car.
Can I part-exchange a car with outstanding finance? Yes. We deal with the settlement directly with your existing lender, and adjust the part-exchange figure.
Do I have to buy a car from you to part-exchange? Yes - part-exchange only applies when you're buying from GB Cars. To sell outright, give us a call; we may still be interested.
What if my car doesn't drive well? Bring it down anyway. We can usually arrange transport. Even non-runners may have value.
